James De Mint

James De Mint joined the CfUT team in August of 2018 as a Talent Recruiter and Developer. Graduating from the University of UW-Milwaukee in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Language Studies. In 2013 began working for Renaissance Schools, which, one year later, became a part of the LUMIN Network. In his time with Renaissance, James worked initially as a Teacher’s assistant, Assistant Coach, Substitute Teacher, and operated the Childcare and Before and After School Enrichment Program (B.A.S.E). God blessed him with a 4th Grade teaching position which then evolved into a Middle School Science teaching position for the next four years.

Teaching allowed James to become involved with the Center for Urban Teaching, where he spent 3 years being virtually coached. In 2017, James was nominated and received a scholarship to join the CfUT cohort at Wisconsin Lutheran college and began his Master’s in Leadership and Innovation. He is currently on course to graduate in 2020. As part of the Master’s program, James has worked as a Co-Principal of Northwest Lutheran in the summer of 2017 and Hope – Via/Veritas in the summer of 2018. The training in leadership has also allowed him to stretch into Administrative duties at Renaissance where he performed as the school’s Assistant Middle School Dean as well as Restorative Family and Community Relations Director.
