Chris Marx

Chris Marx joined the CfUT team as a summer school principal in 2018. Chris started his career in education serving for eight years as a special education teacher in the Milwaukee Public School system. In 2017, he transitioned to a world history and English teacher at HOPE Christian High School before advancing to the leadership team as the Dean of Students there. Over a decade of watching countless educators come and go, he was discouraged by the impact on the deserving scholars of the city of Milwaukee. This inspired Chris to recognize the importance of identifying and developing skilled educators before they enter the classroom for the first time. He made it his mission to be a part of the solution, and to create stability and sustainability in the field of education.

As a result, Chris joined the CfUT team full time in September of 2020 to recruit and develop talent and coach teachers already in the field. In addition to the Master’s in Special Education Chris holds from Rockford University, he will complete a Master’s degree in leadership and innovation from Wisconsin Lutheran College in May of 2021. While he misses the classroom dearly, he has found his passion in supporting aspiring educators and indirectly helping to close the achievement gap for scholars in the classroom.

Chris lives in Greenfield with his wife Laura and their two kids, Gracelyn and Gavin. He loves golfing and will hijack an inordinate amount of your time if you mention the Packers or if you quote any one of the hundreds of movies that he claims are his “favorite.”
